American Banker: Bank jobs hit lowest level since prior to pandemic: Report

Data from KBRA Financial Intelligence's recent Insight report, U.S. Employment Data Reveals Cuts to Banking and Finance Jobs, was featured in a November 26 article from American Banker examining the gradual decline in U.S. commercial bank employment. American Banker noted that bank jobs reached their lowest level since prior to pandemic in 3Q 2025.

Associate Director Sean McGovern provided his perspective, noting that some of the workforce reductions at larger banks might become permanent, especially if the cuts are tied to the adoption of technology such as AI.
